British Milers Club Meeting - Scotstoun

Last Friday saw a number of athletes turn out for the British Milers Club meeting at a very sunny Scotstoun track.

First up running an 800m for the Under 17’s was Aidan Gilbride. Running his second fastest 800m time of 2:01.19, Aidan put in a promising run ahead of the Scottish Championship 800m U18 Championships next week

Next up for the 800m and representing the senior men was Niall Walker who deservedly managed to break the 2 minute barrier, a feat that saw him literally fall over the finish line. Niall’s hard work and dedication rewarded him with a personal best time of 1:59.73.

With two great performances already from Aidan and Niall, Lucy Muirhead stepped on to the track to represent EKAC’s Under 13’s; and smashing the 2:30 barrier she was only 1.4 seconds off a new club age group record!

After Lucy's fine performance it was the job of three Under 11 boys to run their races. Finishing just 1.2 seconds off a new club age group record, Elliot Bain ran an impressive 2:45.32. Joseph Hagan was next over the line for EKAC at 2:56.52 then Euan Sweeten at 2:57.25 and Aaron Gilbride crossing the line in a time of 3:16.78.
